ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT TEAM LLOYD IRVIN IS THE BEST!!!!
I had 3 matches total today, all 3 submissions!! I am the Purple Belt Leve World Champion!!!
I was promoted to the rank of Purple Belt 2 weeks ago by Master Lloyd Irvin, and I was very nervous to compete at the Worlds as a purple. But today when I stood there on those mats, I knew that my opponent across from me had not trained as hard as I did! I knew that with Team Lloyd Irvin by my side, and sticking to my game plan, I had it in the bag! Thank You for all of the support, everyone on The Team who has helped me, and all of you Team Lloyd Irvin Fans.
We are the TOP American Team, and I know that we will continue to grow and become stronger!!
It was another long day at the venue! We just got back to the hotel and it is already 11PM. Today at the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Championships, Team Lloyd Irvin left with a total of 5 Gold Medals!!
For the Purple Belts, Willie Leonard, Andris Brunovski, and I took 1st place in our divisions. And for the Blue Belts, Frank “The Crank” Camacho closed out the middle weight division with teammate DJ Jackson, and Evan Gideon won his division!!!
Congrats to all the competitors and Best Wishes to the Competitors tomorrow, and those who have the Open Division!!! Keep up the hard work!!! Tomorrow at 9 AM our Juvenile Team is up, they are ready!!! We also have BJJ Black Belts Mike Fowler and JT Torres, Brown Belts Jim Harbison and Nyjah Easton competing tomorrow.
This morning Master Lloyd, Mike Fowler, Andris, and I trained jiu-jitsu while the other guys did the strength and conditioning workout. It is almost time for the Brazilian World Championships, and Team Lloyd Irvin is anxious and hungry. We have been doing tons of sparring, grip fighting, everything LIVE LIVE LIVE!
Last evening we had great training, everyone was pushing hard!! If you are at one of our affiliate schools and want some great training during this last week before the big show, then you need to be here in Camp Springs! This is it, what YOU and your teammates have trained so hard for, this one shot to win the World Title, so train hard, and train smart!
For now I am off to the 4:30 drilling class! More updates on this evenings class will be posted later.
DRILLING @ 4:30
During the BJJ drilling session today here at Lloyd Irvin’s Mixed Martial Arts consisted of Mike Fowler, JT Torres, Jim Harbison, DJ Jackson, Andris, JC Cuffee, Kris McCray and myself.
JC and Kris worked on some MMA techniques with Master Lloyd Irvin. While the rest of worked on our techniques that we will be using at the Worlds!!!
I am so excited, all I want to do is train, drill, train, drill. My body is beat up and sore from the last couple of practices. Worlds is on my mind, sitting here at this front desk, I can’t even concentrate, all I am thinking about is competing. Next up, BJJ Advanced class at 8:30!!!!
This morning at 6 AM, D Angelo had the guys doing their regular routine of the strength and conditioning workout.
Although BJJ Black belts, Master Lloyd, Mike Fowler and JT Torres are down in Rio and the Brazilian Nationals and won’t be back until Tuesday….SO Team Lloyd Irvin Weekend Competition Team Training- Everyone on the confirmed 2010 World Championship List had practice today at Crazy 88. Tomorrow we will continue with practice at Master Dalla’s school in Woodbridge Sunday from 12:30-2:30pm.

Don’t forget about this upcoming weekend, we have the UWC fights on May 22nd at the George Mason Patriot Center. Team Lloyd Irvin has 4 fighters on the card, and if you are interested in buying tickets, we are selling them at the school.
This pas weekend Willie Leonard and Tracey Goodell took 1st place in their respected divisions at the Brazilian Nationals held in Rio de Janeiro. Willie also went on later to fight in the absolute division, winning all 3 matches and taking home double gold.
Arriving at the venue, you could hear the screaming and cheering from around the corner. It was definitely a surreal feeling, stepping on the mats in Brazil and for the first time!
Rio has been absolutely amazing!! I have enjoyed my stay here, the beach, the food, and the people…. and now it has come to and end. Back to reality, work, and training!! Mundials is 1 month away and I can’t believe it!

Last night we ate at BIBI again….the food there is great!! Then headed to Copa Cabana so the guys could get a few things. On the way there we hit a little bit of traffic, and got pulled over again! This time, Mike Fowler, Willie and I weren’t so worried. But we had a teammate with us, CJ from Crazy 88. He and Willie got searched up and down! Asking if we had drugs…I was a little more calm than the night before. The things that go on in 3rd World Countries, crazy!
I am loving this weather, and the food but it’s time to compete!!! First up from Team Lloyd Irvin will be CJ, he goes around 2 pm. Today is going to be full of exciting jiu-jitsu matches to watch! But next weekend will be the most exciting of all, that’s when the Jiu-Jitsu black belts compete!
