Medal Chasers (Must See Team Lloyd Irvin Documentary)

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to become a Brazilian jiu jitsu champion, Jason Farrell’s new documentary, Medal Chasers, is essential viewing.  Medal Chasers looks at eight members of Team Lloyd Irvin (Andris Brunovskis, Frank “The Crank” Camacho, Sijara “Sarj” Eubanks, Evan ”Oz” Gideon, Tracey Goodell, DJ “Ram Man” Jackson, “Big” Willie Leonard, and David Zwanetz) as they prepared for the 2010 International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation world championships.

Jason’s documentary was a labor of love, intended to shine the light on BJJ for the casual mixed martial arts fan who might not understand the art.  Jason also wanted to get to the inner core of Team Lloyd Irvin, the “American underdogs” making noise and capturing the world’s attention.

Jason Farrell is the lead muay thai Coach at Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Ivey League Martial Arts, and he’s made several highlights videos for Team Lloyd Irvin, for, among others, Mike “The Hulk” Easton, Jose “The Pistol” Villarisco, and D’Angelo Kinard’s strength and conditioning sessions.  Jason also produced and co-directed I’m A Champion, a short documentary about Mike Easton that Jason intends to turn into a full-length feature.  In a few weeks Jason will resume shooting on Team Lloyd Irvin and its quest for 2011 world titles.
