Today was the open Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament in Brazil.
Mike Fowler finishes his first two matches with the same exact basic techniques that we teach in our beginnger brazilian jiu jitsu classes. In his third match Fowler lost by a score of 3-2.
JT “Spiderman” Torres in his first match fought Alliance Jiu Jitsu bjj/mma fighter mateus serafim securing his 200th back take in competition and finishing the match with a RNC. In JT’s second match he reaches back take 201 finishing with the bow and arrow choke. In his third match he loses by a score of 0-0 2 advantages to 1 advantage. The guy he was fighitng was really big and wasn’t moving at all but the ref didn’t give any warnings or point deductions. Like we always say………
Jon made his Brazil debut and won his first three matches losing his fourth match on points. Jon said it felt great finally getting to compete in Brazil and looks forward to his weight division tomorrow.
